Amazon’s new Echo Show 16 costs $499.99, and the new Echo Dot is $99.99
Amazon announced five Alexa devices built around Alexa+, led by a thinner 16-inch Echo Show at $499.99 and an Echo Dot that now costs $99.99.

Amazon announced five new products for the home built around Alexa+, led by a redesigned 16-inch Echo Show that starts at $499.99 and is open for preorder today, with $100 off for preorders.
Five devices, from a $99.99 speaker to a 16-inch screen
According to Amazon, the Echo Show 16 has a full HD display, is nearly 40% thinner than before, offers 10% more viewing area and 20% more processing power. A Nanomatte version, priced at $569.99, is said to cut glare by more than 90%. The device has built-in Fire TV, Screen Styles, auto-framing, and night vision for Live View.

The Echo Dot is $99.99 and ships today. It runs on Amazon’s AZ3 chip with an AI Accelerator for on-device processing, which Amazon says improves conversation detection and filters background noise. It also works as a smart home hub, includes an eero Wi-Fi extender covering up to 1,000 square feet, and has 50% more bass than the previous model. The Echo Dot Kids costs $109.99 and includes one year of Amazon Kids+.
The Echo Studio is $219.99. A version with a Home Camera costs $249.99 and ships today. Amazon lists a high-excursion woofer, Dolby Atmos and continuous room adaptation, with video calling through compatible Fire TVs coming later.

The Echo Time, at $199.99, is a camera-free bedside clock with hundreds of clock faces. Amazon says its Omnisense sleep sensing wakes users within a window of 10 to 60 minutes around the alarm without a wearable, and that it carries the National Sleep Foundation’s SleepMark. The Amazon Kids version starts at $209.99 with a year of Kids+.
The Alexa Photo Frame has a 10-inch anti-glare touchscreen and syncs with Amazon Photos. Amazon calls it the first photo frame with Alexa built in. The newsroom post gives no price or ship date for it.

Alexa+ and a 3D map of the home
Alexa+ is included with a Prime membership, and some of the new features require it. Amazon says it handles more natural conversation, asks clarifying questions and coordinates several sources for multi-step tasks. On the Echo Show 16, answers appear with generated visuals, and conversations are saved as Cards that can be continued on Echo devices, the Alexa app or Alexa.com.
Alexa Home Map is an interactive 3D view of the home. On the Echo Show 16 it places lights, locks, thermostats and cameras where they are in the house. Amazon’s post gives no separate price or release date for it.
Amazon also published usage figures. It says customers talk to Alexa two to three times more often and give it more complex tasks, and that Echo Show is its fastest-growing Echo line, up more than 25% year over year. These are the company’s own numbers and are not independently verified.
A $99.99 Dot follows August’s price hikes
The pricing comes after a round of increases. On 21 August 2026, Amazon raised prices across its Echo, Fire TV, Kindle and eero lines, according to The Next Web. The Echo Dot went from $49.99 to $79.99 and the Echo Show 21 reached $499.99. Amazon blamed “significant increases in memory and storage component costs”, according to that report. Against that baseline, the new Echo Dot at $99.99 costs $20 more than the already-raised Dot it replaces, though it adds a hub, a Wi-Fi extender and an AI chip. The Echo Studio kept its $219.99 price through the August round, per the same report.
The Echo Show 16 starts at the same $499.99 as the Show 21 now costs. That puts a thinner 16-inch device and the larger model at the same entry price, and buyers will have to weigh screen size against the newer design and Alexa+ features. Techmeme’s summary of Bloomberg’s coverage says Amazon raised smart speaker prices alongside the launch, but the newsroom post mentions no increases, so that claim stays unconfirmed here.
The launch also arrives as Amazon trims its devices staff. Reuters covered the lineup and separately reported that Amazon cut more jobs in its devices unit after a flurry of product rollouts.
What the announcement leaves open
Amazon’s post does not give a price or date for the Alexa Photo Frame, a date for Echo Studio video calling, or availability for Alexa Home Map outside the Echo Show 16. Regional availability is not stated, and the performance and sleep-tracking claims are Amazon’s own, with no independent testing yet.
